Capone

Capone (aka Pony or Po) is one of my favorite dogs! Perhaps not my best sport dog he is still a fun, reliable, handsome guy that is very easy to live with and handle. An "old soul" Capone's reliability and consistency is beyond compare to other dogs I've worked with.

Capone will be bred to "Cassie"  in late 2010 or early 2011.  I should be ready for my next competition Pit bull by then and have started a waiting list for serious working home inquiries.  If you’d like to be added to the waiting list please email me your level of experience with the breed, training/competing and any clubs/organizations you currently belong to to discuss further options.

Capone is available to stud on a limited basis much depending on the individual female and specific goals of the dam's breeder.

Of course, any potential female will need to pass our temperament evaluation and have at least minimal health testing. Females need not be top working prospects but they must not be overly shy.  Of course, strong consideration will be given to "working titled' females or females with strong working pedigrees.

**It's true - I am very selective on what I want in my next competition prospect! I will breed to a female I like well enough to keep a pup or two from for myself, even if it's only long enough to train them up and sale or place.  Sorry. If by chance your female does not meet our approval rating, or if I'm already "set" with my next prospects please do not take offense! Your interest in our animals and their training is very much appreciated! Besides, I've had pretty good luck helping set up a couple bleedings that have produced well for work. It's very possible I can assist you in finding another suitable mate for your girl!**

I don't breed often as I feel there are already too many unwanted pit bulls and it would be unethical to contribute to the overpopulation of our breed. Besides, some of the unwanted dogs are very good ones at that! Instead, I breed when "I" need my next competition dog which is about every 5 to 6 years.

Anyone who is serious about training recognizes that even the best pup can end up washing out of a program once mature. Often, we won't know for sure just how good a dog will be until they are at, or over the 2 year mark. Some pups show very strong in the beginning but once the adult teeth come in and a little more formality or control is added to the work, they no longer wish to "play". Other pups might show very strong early and get even stronger with maturity! Yet these dogs often never do give in to the reliable obedience and control necessary for most international sport competitions. I want neither of these types of dogs preferring a dog who is manageable, somewhat easy to live with, able to support a regimented training program and show consistency in the work. After all, I put much time and effort into my personal dogs training. I want and need a willing partner who enjoys the working lifestyle as much as myself.

We strive to produce Working "quality" American Pit Bull Terriers that are both sound in body and in mind.
